IT Support Team Lead

Orbis is a boutique managed service provider offering a variety of IT services for small and medium sized businesses. We are seeking an individual who is interested in joining a growing company with a casual but fast-paced and team-oriented work environment. The IT Support Team Lead will spend 75% of their day managing our support team and working on internal projects and our more complex support issues and 25% of the day assisting the support team with Tier 1 support requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Help Desk Triage – prioritize support tickets and assign to the appropriate team members
  • Diagnose, resolve and document Tier 2 support issues
  • Assist with Tier 1 support issues as necessary via phone, email and remote connection
  • Plan and coordinate hardware, software and VOIP installations
  • Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance at customer locations and Orbis facilities
  • Communicate with vendors as necessary to resolve customer issues
  • Identify ways to improve our efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Mentor Tier 1 support technicians

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience providing IT support
  • Extensive experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows servers and desktops
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Experience working with Active Directory, DNS
  • Experience with a ticketing system
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable and hard working
  • Ability to communicate clearly with end users of all technical skill levels via phone, email and ticket system updates
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong leadership skills and desire to mentor others with less experience
  • Strong customer service skills and desire to follow through on issues to resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Mac experience a plus
  • Microsoft certifications a plus
  • VOIP experience a plus
  • Reliable car for occasionally driving to clientsites
